Last week we posted about how our gr 12 writers shone in the SALA (South African Literacy Association) 2017 writing competition.

The National results came out today and we are proud to announce the following:

The class of 2017 experienced their final assembly at Charter College on 22 September. This marks the last day of their school career.

As always, it is a bittersweet day for most. There is a longing to lose the shackles of school, but at the same time, to face the beginning of a new journey, with trepidation and excitement.

September 8 was proclaimed International Literacy Day by UNESCO.

The international community is reminded of the status and importance of literacy.

Charter College’s Grade 8 group celebrated by reading from the well-known and much loved Roald Dahl. To us, literacy means empowerment. We remain fanatics of all that literacy offers and the many doors it opens.
