On Thursday, March 2nd, our Individual Speaker, Kimberley Marinda participated in the Public Speaking Festival hosted by Crawford College in Lonehill.

This event is open to speakers in grade 11 and 12 only.

Kim’s prepared speech was on “Are humans better at creation or destruction?” Kim was erudite, eloquent, well prepared and her sunny disposition shone through as she delivered an excellent speech.

The competition also requires an impromptu speech. The topic given to Kim was” You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.” No internet or dictionaries or any references are allowed in the ten minute preparation.

Again Kim excelled, and took a humorous approach. She spoke with ease, confidence and maturity.

The standard was exceptionally high, and we at Charter College are very proud of Kimberley, as she attained an A.
