Good morning Parents,

As you are all well aware, in the hope of curbing the spread of the Covid-19 virus, President Cyril Ramaphosa has closed All schools from the 18th March until after the Easter weekend.

Charter College will be closing over this period. This will affect our school calendar. We have decided to bring our holiday forward meaning that the school will break up for the holidays on Tuesday the 17th March and return to school on Tuesday 14th April. The 2020 calendar will be revised and published on the D6 communicator shortly.

Due to the upcoming Cambridge Examinations, our Grades 11 and 12 students will be given work to do over the holidays. This will be sent home tomorrow. All work will be put up on the D6 communicator. Work may also be uploaded on Media platforms in order to make sure that our IGCSE and AS Level students are well prepared for this year’s exams.

We are in the process of having a digital teaching portal opened that we will be able to use going forward. I am in constant liaison with Cambridge International Assessment. At this stage the June examinations will be going ahead as planned.

I am aware that parents are very concerned about the well- being of their children, and we as a school have put measures into place to minimise risk.

All sports and cultural activities are cancelled with immediate effect.
We will be moving our Parents Evening and hand out school reports at a later date. More information will be sent out shortly.
We have been using hand sanitizer in all our classrooms and the cleaning of all surfaces has been stepped up. Students who would like to wear face masks for protection may do so.

Please feel free to email me directly should you have any queries or concerns.

Kind Regards
Alison Dodge
