It is a great privilege and honour to be chosen as a schools competitive individual Public speaker. Great thought and consideration is taken into choosing just the right speaker. You need poise, humour, confidence and excellent public speaking skills!

We chose Cameron Dodge for 2019!

Cameron plays hockey, is a fundraiser, does charity work donates blood, does public speaking, excels at school and is our head girl.

Last night Cameron Dodge spoke in the last event of the Public Speaking festival, at St. Dominic’s. She spoke very well and with great sincerity and achieved an A+!

Well done Cameron, We knew you could do it!

As we reach the end of the Speech and Drama Association, 2019 Festival.

I would like to summarize our results and celebrate our victories.

  • Gr 8 – B+ AND A
  • Gr 9 – B+
  • Gr 10 – A AND A+
  • Gr 11 – A AND B+
  • Trophy team – A+

As an extra-mural, Public Speaking consists of individual and group speeches, for which we, competitively, get graded. You get to meet new people who share your interests, all the while improving your confidence and creativity. Public Speaking teaches you the various techniques in order to express yourself, being able to deliver with finesse and quality.

Well done to all who took part in the festival. You made Charter College very proud. Now start working on your individual speeches for the South African Literacy Association competition.

Please join us on Saturday the 4th of May for the SALA Gauteng round 1, at Charter College.
