On Wednesday, the 7th of March, Charter College hosted School of Merit in a game of soccer. Charter College were undoubtedly dominant in the first half displaying great vision, passing and an overall display of teamwork. After a great showing of skill and movement, Charter College opened the scoring within 5 minutes of the start. Throughout the match it was quite evident that the boys had less concerns over their fitness levels as there were no incidents of pulled muscles in this game. A defensive mix-up however did lead to School of Merit capitalizing on the situation and levelling matters just before the halftime break.
The second half was a fiercely contested conclusion to the game. Set-pieces from Charter College proved to be focal in their attack throughout the game. The match ended in a 6-goal thriller with both teams ending level on 3 goals apiece.
Well done to Kgosi Maubane who scored 2 goals while Siyamthanda Molemela secured a third goal.
